From my opinion, I think that Finding Dory was a better sequel than any of the Toy Story films, but like I sad that’s just my opinion. The film kept my daughter engaged and I was entertained throughout the entire movie. Finding Dory was filled with both humor and emotion. The film received widespread critical acclaim and was a massive box office success, grossing 1. The film was directed by Andrew Stanton, who also directed the original film, and was released on June 17, 2016. Since Toy Story 3, Pixar had finally created a sequel to one of their animated motion pictures worth watching. Finding Dory is a 2016 3D computer-animated film and sequel to the 2003 Pixar computer-animated feature film, Finding Nemo. From this, Dory decides to go on yet another journey across the ocean to find her parents and is accompanied by Nemo and Nemo’s dad, Marlin.Īfter watching the film, I was pleasantly surprised. Similarly to Finding Nemo, where Dory can remember the address “P Sherman, 42 wallaby way, Sydney”, Dory can also remember, “The Jewel of Morro Bay” from her flashbacks. The film begins with scenes from Finding Nemo and Dory’s inability to remember anything longer than ten seconds, and then we are brought to the present time where Dory begins having flashbacks about her parents and her younger life. i was at a car rental place in waikiki, and this tank had the fish from 'finding nemo', and i was fucking amazed at how the fish that looked like. The film lacked the humor and emotion that Pixar has been known for. Last summer, I had taken my daughter to watch, Inside Out, and I was not at all impressed.
So it’s safe to say that my expectations going into watch this film were not very high. Pixar has failed to deliver an animated film worth watching since 2012 when, Brave, was released. In my opinion, outside of the Toy Story films, Pixar’s sequels have been less than mediocre to say the least. Recently, we took our 3-year-old daughter to watch Finding Dory.
